WE EDUCATE PEOPLE

Debby

"If you met me today you would never guess I am afraid to speak in public.  The center has built my confidence in ways I could have never imagined.  In the past I was an outgoing, independent aid working with children with disabilities.  I even started a program at my church for children with disabilities, which I ran for 14 years.  After losing my vision in my left eye to a stroke of the optic nerve and limited vision in my right, I was unsure of where to turn.  I came to BCABVI hesitant for support, but soon noticed it was what I truly needed.  I became fearless, talking in front of large crowds about my journey of acceptance and sharing with other people the obstacles I faced.  If it weren't for the agency, I don't know where I would be.  They have given me back my independence."
