The Bucks County Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired is a private, non-profit agency located in Newtown PA.

Our Vision is rich, vibrant and independent lives for the blind or visually impaired.

Our Mission is to provide resources, answers and support for people with blindness or other visual impairment that maximize their ability to meet life’s daily challenges and realize their continued self-worth and value to our community.

We Help Clients Prepare for and Manage their Vision Loss by creating individualized service plans that facilitate goal achievement.  In partnership with our clients, our professional staff identifies the right combination of services, vision evaluations, assistive technology, education, resources and support needed for personal success.

We Educate our Community and Raise Public Awareness
by conducting free vision screenings to adults and preschool children that reinforce the need for regular professional eye examinations.  We offer presentations that address symptoms and treatments for eye diseases, causes, implications and prevention of vision loss and teach best practices to support people with visual impairments.

Eligibility for Services Any resident of Bucks County whose vision is corrected to no better than 20/70 or has a visual field of less than 20 degrees is eligible for services.  There is no charge for most of our services.

Testimonials

Dear Tina,

On behalf of the case management staff and residents at the Bucks County Senior Housing in Lower Bucks County, thank you so very much for the presentations you recently did at Lamont Plaza, Grundy Gardens, MacIntosh, Bensalem Woods and Grundy Towers.  The information was very useful and has inspired residents to think about their visual health, and physical health in general, in more proactive ways.  We hope you will come back again next year!

Thank you,

Bernadette O’Connor, MA
