WE EDUCATE PEOPLE

Kent

"I had a malignant tumor which caused complete vision loss in my right eye when I was 18 months old. From a very young age, I adapted and learned to rely on my left eye to see. My vision remained constant until 62 years later another tumor developed on my optic nerve causing vision loss in my left eye. At 66 years old, I became totally blind.  I joined a support group at BCABVI where I was able connect with other people who understood what I was feeling. I shared experiences with the group, and together we learned about the latest research, resources and how to overcome life’s daily challenges.  My experiences at BCABVI helped me find a renewed sense of purpose.  I decided to write a book to help others. Journey into Blindness – An Inspirational Story of Overcoming Trauma and Regaining a Valuable Life was completed April 2017."
