"Someone would expect the most challenging time in my life to be serving in the Navy.  The real challenge is staying independent while being visually impaired.  I attend the monthly VA Group at BCABVI which I look forward to every month.  I realized I wasn't all by myself, that other veterans are confronted with the same challenges and obstacles as me.  When I was younger I spent my time at the Brooklyn Dodgers baseball stadium as a bat boy.  I have fond memories of those times and always have fun reminiscing on the good ole days.  Being apart of the VA Groups has shown me there is more light ahead than I thought, instead of looking back on those days I am able to look forward to bigger and better things."
