Preschool Vision Screenings
BCABVI conducts Preschool Vision Screening Programs to locate, at the earliest possible age, children who may have ocular problems. We work with over 85 preschools in Bucks County to screen over 3,400 children annually.
BCABVI uses the Spot Vision Screener, a handheld vision screening device that helps users quickly and easily detect vision issues in children ages 3 to 6-years-old. During the time of COVID, this new instrument allows our trained vision screeners to accurately screen both eyes at one time (within 30 seconds) from a safe 3-foot distance. If a child shows symptoms of vision problems, they are referred for a complete eye examination and medical treatment so they may begin their formal education with the best possible sight.
