Our Impact Stories
Our clients come from all walks of life and we celebrate their diverse experiences and perspectives. Each individual is on their unique vision loss journey, and our mission is to empower them to live rich, vibrant, and independent lives. We invite you to explore their inspiring stories and discover what it truly means to be part of our vibrant community.

Paul
Paul wanted to remain independent in his home despite his progressive vision loss. At Bucks County Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired, Paul accessed a specialized rehabilitation team equipped to address his comprehensive vision needs.
He uses words like "proactive", "helpful", "great" and "kind" to describe our staff.
Paul wants to share his positive experiences with others. His goal is to "make people feel better when they leave the room than when they came in."

Karen
Karen values her independence.
After receiving assistance from BCABVI for her daily living needs, she is hopeful that she can stay independent for life.
"BCABVI's services have helped me with all of my daily living skills. The assistive devices I've been trained on make me more independent and able to handle the things I need to do."
Karen has joined our support groups and enjoys attending our in-person events. She is thriving.

Mary
Mary came to us after being diagnosed with several progressive eye diseases. She wanted to connect with others who understood what she was feeling and the challenges she was experiencing.
She joined one of our support groups and has since become a peer mentor.
"It's been so important for me to know that there are other people out there on the same journey that I am, sharing things that only they can understand, and knowing that I am not alone."

John
John's goal is to remain as independent as possible. With BCABVI's support services, he's more independent than ever.
"Over the years I've learned a lot from fellow clients, which has helped me be more independent. When you talk to others who have been through what you have, you're able to overcome a lot of challenges."
John uses BCABVI's transportation & escort services. "The drivers take me to and from my doctor's appointments. They walk inside the office and wait for me. I appreciate this a lot. It feels like a family."
